from Aglientu to Costa Paradiso
in northern Sardinia
An environment driven by low and pleasant hills with scraggly peaks and elevated resting on a wild stretch of coast in its jagged granite red, sweet and delicate in its pleasant coves and wide beaches.
This is the bizarre and varied landscape that stretches between the towns of Aglientu, Trinita d'Agultu e Vignola, Viddalba, Badesi, in the north of Sardinia, the Gallura region on the border with the province of Sassari, to Valledoria, Castelsardo, Alghero, Stintino and the wild dell'Argentiera coast.
Aglientu boasts a coastline of 22 km along which alternate rocky headlands, including the Monte Russu round-shaped pink granite jutting into the Gulf of Asinara, and beautiful sandy beaches such as Lu Litarroni, Vignola, Rena Majore slope in a lovely sea.
Exchange Station animals en route from Porto Torres to Santa Teresa Gallura in Roman times, has witnessed important historical origins of the presence on the site of numerous Nuraghe, distributed mainly on the coast, and by the discovery of stone tools dating back to the early Neolithic .
Interesting itinerary that leads to the nuraghe of Tuttusoni and Finucchjaglia of rare building tholos, one kilometer from each other, and the visit to some country churches, from San Pancrazio, 5 km from Aglientu the end of '600 , in San Biagio, 6 km in the direction of Tempio 1967; others are San Giovanni, 10 km from 1930, and San Silverio, the late '30s in the vicinity of Marina di Portobello.
A 365 m. above sea level and built in the nineteenth century, the town of Trinity in Agultu dominates a wide stretch of sea which since the 70s has become a sought after seaside destination; different, the neighborhood, the inevitable stages, as Vignola, northeast of Trinity and next to a strip of coastline between Cala Serraina and Porto Leccio, and the renowned cluster of Isola Rossa, the red color that characterizes the eponymous island that It rises from the sea, facing the village.
Besides having conserved its fishing village origins, Red Island overlooking a small bay, welcoming the Longu beach, a sixteenth-century tower and representing an international hot spot.
Towards Punta Li Canneddi, you get to the beautiful beach of Sa Marinedda, and soon after to the beautiful Costa paradise bathed by one of the most beautiful seas of Sardinia, on which there are numerous beaches, such as Li Cossi beach, reached by a detour of Trinity road - Santa Teresa Gallura.
Do not miss the excursion to Tinnari, the peak from where you enjoy views from destruction, before reaching in a half hour of walking the same name Tinnari beach.
About 4 km lies the small residential town of Portobello di Gallura and to follow, Porto Vignola, while about twenty kilometers further on Santa Teresa Gallura with its imposing Spanish tower which rises on the northwest side of the cliff.
