Island of Santo Stefano
archipelago of La Maddalena
Santo Stefano is the closest island to the Sardinian coast. The eastern part is occupied by an American military base, while on the western side lies the beautiful beach of Fish.
Ideal landing is Cala Vela Marina, where you can walk to some granite quarries and a huge unfinished statue dedicated to the hierarch fascist Costanzo Ciano; on the left you can see the Fort of St. George or Fort Napoleon.
