Semidano

White grape variety of uncertain origin, formerly very popular in Sardinia. The 800 underwent a strong reduction in area following the invasion of phylloxera when, at the time of replanting of new vineyards , were preferred more productive and disease-resistant varieties such as Nuragus. Currently it is grown only in a small area of the Campidano of Oristano, on clay-limestone soils of medium texture located in the hills. From the vinification of this elegant vine produces a wine of great finesse, usually with a bright golden straw color, floral and fruity aromas of peach and apricot and nice and soft taste notes even fruits and herbs. The Denomination of Controlled Origin Sardinia Semidano with subdenomination " Mogo " was founded in 1995.
