Tortolì

Among the most important towns of the coast, as well as its most important and largest of Ogliastra, it is Tortolì, whose municipality includes the nearby center of Arbatax.
Equipped airport, which has boosted tourism in the area, the town offers a visit to the former Cathedral of St. Andrew and, on the northern outskirts, the old bishop's palace.
Heading south, the highway runs through a hilly landscape reaching two high prehistoric menhir near which are also Domus de Janas and a tomb of the Giants.
To the north of the town, it is the pond of Tortolì, the second largest on the east coast of Sardinia; surrounded by lush vegetation, it is an important stop for migratory birds.
